The three dates that matter
November 1, 2026 is the first day you can enroll in, renew or change a plan for 2027. December 15, 2026 is the last day to pick a plan that starts January 1, 2027.
January 15, 2027 is the last day of open enrollment. If you enroll after December 15, your coverage starts later than January 1.
| Date | What happens |

Why 2027 is worth a fresh look
The enhanced tax credits ended on December 31, 2025, and the 400% income limit is back for 2027. The most you can pay out of pocket on a 2027 Marketplace plan is $12,000 for one person and $24,000 for a family.
If you are auto-renewed, your plan and your credit may not fit your 2027 income. Check the 2027 income limit before you accept the renewal.
Georgia, Medicare and missing the window
Georgia runs its own marketplace, Georgia Access. Check its posted dates for 2027. Medicare is separate: its open enrollment runs October 15 to December 7, 2026.
Miss January 15, 2027 and you generally need a Special Enrollment Period, such as losing other coverage or moving. Our special enrollment finder helps you check.
