  • Confirm your doctors and prescriptions are covered
  • Handle Open Enrollment and Special Enrollment Periods
In short

The ACA Marketplace offers individual and family health plans, and most enrollees qualify for premium tax credits that lower the monthly cost based on income and household size. We check the subsidies you qualify for and compare metal tiers (Bronze/Silver/Gold) against your doctors and budget.

How Marketplace subsidies work

Premium tax credits reduce your monthly premium based on your estimated household income and size relative to the federal poverty level. Silver plans can also unlock cost-sharing reductions that lower your deductibles and copays if you qualify. Because the credit is tied to your income estimate, getting that estimate right matters — we help you dial it in so you are neither overpaying nor facing a surprise at tax time.

Choosing a metal tier

Bronze plans have the lowest premiums but the highest out-of-pocket costs, making them a fit for people who want catastrophic protection. Gold plans cost more monthly but pay more when you use care. Silver sits in the middle and is often the best value once cost-sharing reductions are applied. We line up the real numbers — premium after subsidy, deductible, network and drug coverage — so the trade-offs are clear.

When you can enroll

Open Enrollment happens once a year for coverage starting January 1. Outside that window, a qualifying life event — losing job-based coverage, moving, marriage, a new baby — opens a Special Enrollment Period. We confirm which window applies to you and handle the paperwork.

An important 2026 change

The enhanced premium tax credits that made Marketplace coverage especially affordable from 2021 through 2025 expired at the end of 2025. Standard credits still exist, but they are smaller, and the old 400%-of-poverty income cliff has returned for many households — which is why a lot of people saw their 2026 premiums rise. This makes it more important than ever to re-shop your plan and confirm your exact credit rather than letting your coverage auto-renew. We walk you through what changed and find the most affordable path to staying covered.

Cost-sharing reductions — the Silver bonus

Beyond the premium tax credit, there is a second, separate form of help many people miss. If your income qualifies and you choose a Silver plan, cost-sharing reductions can lower your deductible, copays and out-of-pocket maximum — sometimes dramatically. This is why a Silver plan is often the best value for eligible households even though Bronze has a lower premium. We check whether you qualify before recommending a tier, so you do not leave savings on the table.

What to check besides the price

The lowest premium is not always the plan that costs you least over a year. Before you enroll, we confirm your doctors and hospitals are in the plan’s network, check that your prescriptions are covered and on a reasonable tier, and compare the deductible and out-of-pocket maximum — not just the monthly cost. A slightly higher premium can mean a far lower deductible or a network that includes your doctor. We compare total expected cost, so you choose on the real number.

Florida leads the nation

Florida enrolls more people through the ACA Marketplace than any other state — a record 4.7 million residents for 2025 — and did not expand Medicaid, so more working households here rely on Marketplace coverage. That scale means plan availability, networks and subsidies vary by county, and a local agent who knows the Northeast Florida landscape can save you real time and money compared with a national call center.

Self-employed and early retirees

Two groups lean on the Marketplace most: the self-employed, who have no employer plan and often variable income, and early retirees who have stopped working before 65 but are not yet eligible for Medicare. For both, the income estimate and plan choice are especially consequential, and thoughtful planning around income can influence the subsidy you qualify for. If you are in either group, a personalized review pays off — and it is free.
