Page last revised 15 October 2026. Plan data: CMS CY2027 landscape file (September 2026) and 2027 Star Ratings (released 8 October 2026).

The short answer

Dallas County residents choose from 41 Medicare Advantage plans for 2027. The premium is rarely the difference: 31 of them cost $0 a month. The out-of-pocket limit ($2,399 to $9,850), the hospital network and your drug list are what separate them.

Dallas County has 2,603,816 residents in the latest Census survey and an uninsured rate of 21.6%, more than one in five people. Only 11.5% of residents are 65 or older, so Marketplace coverage is as large a part of the conversation here as Medicare.

The county has two 5-star hospitals in the CMS ratings, Baylor Scott & White Medical Center in Irving and the Baylor Scott & White Heart & Vascular Hospital in Dallas, alongside Parkland, the county’s public hospital, at 3 stars.

How does Medigap work in Dallas County?

A Medicare Supplement (Medigap) policy pays some or all of what Original Medicare leaves you: the Part A deductible, Part B coinsurance and more, depending on the plan letter. It works at any doctor or hospital in the country that accepts Medicare, which is why people who travel or split the year between states often prefer it.
